About Us

Mission Statement

The Richmond Digital Photo Club was founded in 2008 by a group of amateur photographers  interested in increasing their knowledge of digital photography and the art of taking better pictures. The mission of the club  is to improve member’s  skills while providing a friendly atmosphere of sharing and learning.

Please feel free to browse this site for more information about our activities. Perhaps you would  enjoy joining us for a meeting and consider becoming a member.

General Information

RDPC has regular monthly meetings, usually on the second Monday of the month at 10:00 -12 a.m. with a social period beginning at 9:30.  Meetings were typically held at the Henrico County Tuckahoe Library in the upper level conference room but since the pandemic, we have met virtually. We are currently planning to resume physical meetings April 11, 2022 at the Tuckahoe Library, barring a resurgence of Covid before then. Meetings frequently feature workshop presentations on topics relevant to the hobby. In the past we have featured workshops, to name a few, on portraiture, depth of field, composition, and Photoshop problem solving.

The great strength of the Richmond Digital Photo Club is that it provides a non-competitive environment where constructive criticism is the norm.  Members are able to seek advice and feedback on their work in a friendly supportive setting. And regardless of skill level, all work is treated with respect and deference.

We typically allocate time after the main presentation in our regular meetings as a photo share session, where members share recent efforts. The range of subjects and photo interests among members is remarkable.
